Can I Bring An Electric Razor On The Plane?

CAN I BRING AN ELECTRIC RAZOR ON A PLANE

Something odd happened to me the other day. I was on my way to Cincinnati, Ohio. I was on my way to boarding the airplane when I came in contact with TSA. I didn’t have any shaving accessories with me at the time since it would be a short trip, but then I wondered. Riding on an airplane is still considered the safest way of traveling. But what about your personal items? The things you need to maintain good hygiene. Can I bring an electric razor on the plane? What about your safety razors, disposable razors? What about your shaving cream, shaving kits, or even your beard trimmer.

Will TSA allow it?

Will they turn you away?

Or will I board that plane without a problem?

So, I did some research, and this is what I found.

Can I bring an electric razor on a plane?

Yes, you can. These types of razors along with disposable razors and cartridges. They are allowed during checked baggage. But these items can also be carried on the plane with you. Straight razors are a no-no. You may think TSA will allow safety razors to slide. But you’re wrong on that end. They aren’t unless you decide to take out the blade before you board the plane.

The electric razor shaves by using foils or rotary’s head to move its blades back and forth. It doesn’t really shave like an actual razor does. But the electric razor doesn’t have many sharp points, so its good to go up in the air.

There needs to be proper storage of your shaving items while traveling.

Electric razors and regular razors both remove hair but differ in the makeup. One has no sharp edges, the other has one. The electric razors are good for travel, but you should make sure to pack it safely so it won’t get any damage while traveling. Any other device or items with sharp edges will have to wrapped safely to prevent any harm to other baggage and to the inspectors.

Can you take a beard trimmer in your hand luggage?

Yes, they are allowed on an airplane. It qualifies as a men’s electric razor. Airplanes restrictions and carry on limitations can be downright conflicting nowadays.

The person before you may be allowed to bring something as simple as cuticle clippers, but if you come forward and try and bring some tweezers, you’re not allowed. This can be the difference between missing your flight versus making it on time.

And according to TSA, whether cordless or rechargeable men’s shave is allowed on an airplane. You may be wondering “why is it allowed” while other similar items aren’t. These items lack the sharp edges other than their knife and scissor counterparts that will definitely get you in trouble.

How can you pack the electric shaver before you get on a plane?

Some people have something called a toiletry bag. These are very common. It’s for packing everything accessory that you use in the bathroom into the bag. Toothbrush, shaver, floss, hairbrush, bath and beauty products.

I like to put a plastic cap on top of the blade part. Sometimes the electric shaver will come with some sort of protective cover when you purchase it and you can use that.

This is to prevent the blades and your foil/rotary head. Once you got that covered, you put it in the toiletry bag.

Can you bring shaving cream on a plane?

Yes, you can. Shaving cream can come in a liquid type form, aerosol, or even my favorite, a gel form. So, all these types of items should be held in containers. The size of the container matters also. So, a container in a 3.4-ounce container or a small one can be perfect.

They must be packed in your checked baggage in order to be carried on a plane. Shaving cream isn’t necessarily a liquid, but it’s a colloid. It can be a foam which is the typical form, or an emulsion. Foam is derived from gas that’s dispersed on a liquid.

Here are some guidelines I researched regarding the size of the shaving cream.

Fortunately, there aren’t any restrictions to having a full-size aerosol can in your luggage. But for carry-on, that’s a different topic. The can must abide by the 3-1-1 rule. What is that, you ask. It’s the TSA liquids rule. The highest volume of aerosol containers which shaving cream is being housed in is 3.4 ounces or about 100ml.

Let’s say you’re not the shaving cream type, you have gels or oils, and you have your aftershave lotions. The same 3.4-ounce maximum volume applies to those products as well. Now, let’s say you don’t have a travel size container. What you can do is place the amount that you’ll most likely need in a little plastic container. The container can have a flip-top cap or a screw on cap.

Can I bring a shaving cream in my carry on?

Yes of course. But it must be in what is considered “limited quantity.” You can shave without shaving cream but who really wants to do that unless their skin can’t stand shaving cream.

Just make sure you packed them in your checked baggage. People pack in either a Ziploc bag or toiletry bag. Your choice.

Can I carry shaving foam on a plane?

Yes, but it there is a catch. It can’t be in cabin baggage. It has to be in checked baggage.

Since its probably known that shaving foam most likely will be in a canister that is over 100ml.

You’ll find some airports that won’t give this much attention. Airports such as Delhi, Mumbai. But the 100ml container should be fine for most airports.

Can shaving cream explode on a plane flight?

I know people would have a lot of things on their mind regarding shaving cream exploding on the plane. That’s one of the reasons why I never brought mine. I always thought due to the high or low pressure the can would either explode or discharge its containment’s and mess up the rest of my personal belongings it was packed with. Well, I was misinformed.

I only bring the TRAVEL SIZE container and pack it in a Ziploc bag. It won’t explode but if it was too explode, then it won’t mess up any of your other belongings since it’s packed in a Ziploc bag. It shouldn’t explode because the compartment where passenger baggage is kept is pressurized.

But I’ve heard from other people that let’s say the plane goes into a decompression period at 30,000 feet and the pilot brings the plane down to 15,000 feet. There might be a problem. But for now, just bring a travel size canister and pack it in a Ziploc bag.

Are shaving razors allowed in carry on?

No. They aren’t. Any sort of razor blade, that includes items such as box cutters, knives (utility or any other kind), double edge safety razor blades are only allowed to be in checked luggage. But if it’s a disposable razor you’re talking about or the cartridges for the razor, then yes, they can go on carry-on luggage. But a safety razor can go on your carryon luggage, but the blade must not be included.

Can I carry a shaving kit in cabin luggage?

No. you can’t. The reason I’ve found is because the razor blades can be removed without a problem. If you have a safety razor and plan to take it with you in your carry-on. Think again. It’s not permitted since the blades are removable and can be used as a weapon and potentially harm someone. Your shaving kit most likely will have these types of blades so, they have to be in checked luggage.

Can you take a Gillette Fusion razor in hand luggage?

Yes. But first, you have to take a good look at your blade. Gillette is known for the “cartridge razor” where you have to replace the cartridge every now and then. So, almost all of these are accepted because the blade is in the head of the handle. It can’t be removed easily and potentially harm someone. So, TSA allows for these to go on carryon luggage. It can be the Gillette Fusion, Schick Hydro. If you have a few extra blades for that Gillette. Those can be accepted also.

Are shaving razors allowed in carry-on bags?

Yes, but make sure that they are disposable kind. If you have cartridges, those also are allowed on your carry-on luggage. If you have safety razor blades, those are only allowed in your CHECKED luggage.

Can you bring tweezers on a plane?

Yes, you can. Tweezer is permitted because they don’t hold the same danger as knife or scissors. But while I’m talking about scissors, you can carry scissors on the plane also, but make sure it doesn’t go past 4 inches.

Can you take an IPL hair removal machine on an airplane?

Yes, you can. IPL hair removal devices have evolved enough to the point that is able to be used by the personal consumer. In their home, on their terms. So, why not travel with it. When you board the plane, you can carry it on as checked baggage or seat right above you when it’s a carry-on.

Since I’m on the topic of IPL hair removal devices. Let’s say you get an IPL hair removal session then go on an airplane, can anything bad happen?

There won’t be any risk or any problems in your flying after your IPL hair removal session. You’ll just have the regular side-effects whenever you go about having one of these procedures. The pain, swelling, redness in the skin, even hyperpigmentation. But from flying an airplane. Nothing will happen.

Still a little confused as to what you can bring on an airplane. Check out the TSA’s prohibited items list and see if you can bring any more shaving accessories on the plane.

Since you’ll obviously be bringing your razor on the plane. Isn’t it a good idea to know how to use it properly. Whether you’re shaving your butt, or removing genital hair. I know you might have some facial hair
