Is It Unhygenic to Shave Your Armpits?

Shaving and unhygienic are attached to the hip. Because being hygienic is often accustomed to being clean and having your hair either completely cut or nice and neat

Is it unhygienic to not shave armpits?

Ever heard the phrase “cleanliness is next to godliness”

No. Not shaving your armpits is not being hygienic but not cleaning them is being unhygienic. To be hygienic is to practice or be active in being healthy and clean. The regular washing of your hands, coughing into your clothes or elbow, and regular cleaning of your home. This is all part of good hygiene. As long as you are clean and not giving off foul smells, then you are fine.

Note: Whether your armpits are shaven or unshaven doesn’t mean they will or will not give off a smell.

Shaving your armpit hair is a matter of personal preference and shouldn’t be much of a hygienic problem as long as you keep the smell under control. Plenty of men never shave their armpits and they are not deemed unhygienic because of it. It can also be a gender issue. Women can be called unhygienic because of hairy armpits.

Health benefits of not shaving armpits

You’ll be less accessible to a skin infection

Anytime you shave you can always cut yourself no matter how long you’ve been shaving. They can be very irritating and even get infected when you don’t treat them properly. A sensitive area such as the armpit, I don’t think you would want that.

Having armpit hair reduces chafing.

Having armpit hair is a good combatant against chafing. When you sweat in your armpits, it causes friction of repeated movements that will lead to chafing of the skin then you’ll get some unwanted rashes.

You can release more pheromones.

You can attract potential mates through the release of pheromones. You have a mysterious set of compounds that can create a certain scent. I know it sounds weird as the connection between the opposite sex and attracting them through pheromones is unlikely in your life. But some studies have shown this to be true.

What countries don’t shave their armpits?

I don’t this question should be phrased as “what countries do people usually don’t shave their armpits” or something like that.

Columbia

Both men and women are highly likely to shave their armpits. You’ll have to search high and low to find someone’s body hair on their exterior.

China

Women in china started taking up shaving their underarms recently. Mostly because the nation has become westernized. And along with that came the trend of hair removal. Although you have the older community and the occasional population that still loves the ways of China.

And they simply choose not to do it. And many consider hair removal a struck of bad luck. So, they are weary to alter their physical appearance.

United States of America

Over the past century due to increased marketing and advertisements women have taken up shaving all the hair of their bodies. But in recent years especially during the “Woke Movement” or “Me Too Era”, there has been a renaissance among women. They are returning to their natural aesthetic looks. No makeup, no waxing, shaving, etc. Some will even dye their armpit hair.

There are a lot of women in all different types of countries that shave and don’t. In today’s world, it comes down to a matter of personal choice and maybe their religion.

Is not shaving unhygienic?

Not shaving isn’t unhygienic. Two things come to mind when I think of this question. Tidiness and cleanliness. A man whose beard is unkept and growing all over the place maybe look at as unhygienic. But only if he shaves a little. Keeping nice and neat he will be looked at as hygienic. Shaving has nothing to do with being healthy and clean. Clean food, soap, and water do.

Benefits of shaving armpits (For men and women)

Armpit hair can reduce the amount of sweat you have buildup. It makes sense. The sweat can build up in the hair. Now that’s not to say your armpits will become very cool or they will produce a significant amount of sweat. But when you look at your clothes your sweat stains won’t be so noticeable.

Now just like the title of this post suggests. Your hygiene can play a factor. The bacteria come from the sweat and dead skin cells in your armpit and it gets trapped in the hair. Now shaving off the hair will help to keep it in place but you still stink if you don’t shower, clean, and use deodorant.

Professionalism. If you are a part of the fashion industry or bodybuilding industry it may be beneficial to shave your armpits and not just your armpits. You most likely have to shave other parts of your body.

How long can armpit hair grow?

Armpit hair can grow up to 5 inches in length. But this mostly depends on your body type. The lowest I’ve seen which is in the family would be about 2 inches. But some people like me have the ability to go beyond that length and grow it till it looks like a little bush in there.
